WEBINAR DESCRIPTION

This course will offer an introduction to the tenets of equity and equitable access in nature-based settings, and offer opportunities to learn about identifying barriers to equitable nature access. We will inspire each other to creatively and meaningfully celebrate culture in the outdoors, and offer some key strategies to adapting to your unique community when offering outdoor programming.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This webinar is designed for anyone who teaches in a forest or nature school program, which could include: teachers, aides, guides, administrators, naturalists.

Sarah Thornbrugh - Co-Founder and Consultant at Just Collective

Sarah is a passionate and seasoned advocate for inclusion, equity, and accessibility with over 12 years of direct experience working within the non-profit and conservation fields. With an educational background in informal education and sustainability, and a lifetime of grassroots community organizing and advocacy work, she focuses on addressing barriers to equitable community engagement with a focus on climate and community resilience. Sarah is a lifelong science learner and participant in community-led conservation efforts, and passionate about sustaining equitable nature access for future generations.
